Tattoo: The back of the neck.

Face Claim: Byakuran - Reborn!

Height: 190 cm
Weight: 75 kg
Hair: White
Eyes: Silver
Description: Adam is a really tall, handsome and quite well-built young man with a fairly light skin. He has longish, spiky white hair that he tends to wear up in a black bandana from time to time. His eyes have a metallic silver colour. Aside from that, his distinguishing feature is a black tattoo under his left eye and what it symbolises is currently unknown, though many are those who assumed that he was branded as a slave when being young. His uniforms tend to feature longer jackets and tight pants he tucks into his boots, and his bandanas and scarves are actually not that much of a part of his outfit desires. In the present, he prefers more casual clothing, wearing a hooded vest, a short-sleeved shirt, a loose belt, and black jeans. Adam prefers to not show his naked back due to the several scars he has on it.

Personality: Despite displaying moods that range from mischievous, laid-back, friendly, cold and bitter, and even sly or naive, Adam is typically a very reserved person, these "personality traits", more often than not, tending to be something of a charade his past has forced him to put on.

He used to be taught by the elders of a family which had its residence around the borders of the Country of Bellum. Adam's received teachings strongly discouraged and, in some cases, even forbade him from making personal attachments. Because of that, he is now extremely aware of the fact that he might well live to see his "friends" and "comrades" die around him and simply move on without showing much of an outward reaction or any emotions at all. These teachings were enforced into him by those braindead elders attempting to turn Adam into a heartless assassin or something like that.

Over time, though, Adam has been finding it harder and harder to stick to these convictions. Somehow, as he grew older, his conception of life evolved to the point where he matured enough to turn the unorthodox teachings he received during his early years of life into a code based on personal convictions, not influenced by the so-called "family". Yet, his inner-self is full of scars and the teachings he received grabbed onto the roots of his personality.

Personal Code: There is no Good without Evil
Yet Evil shall not flourish
As my limbs balance my body
So does my judgement balance my mind

Through passion, I gain serenity
Through victory, I gain harmony
Through knowledge, I gain strength
Through chaos, I gain order

Just as there is freedom in life
There is purpose in death.

Motivations: Achieving a prestigious reputation ; Finding people he can trust ; Keeping the balance between good and evil

Fears: Losing a limb ; Being enslaved ; Failure

Likes: Smoking ; Reading ;  Drinking

Dislikes: Attention seekers ; Ignorants ; Demons

Positive Characteristics (+5)

  • [ Daunting Presence (+2) ] - You are skilled at inducing fear in your opponents.
Explanation: Players of lesser rank cannot initiate combat against you, but are capable of defending themselves.
  • [ Fortitude (+3) ] - You are tougher than normal. You can take more hits than the regular Joe.
Explanation: Players have a C-rank endurance buff passively.

Negative Characteristics (-5)

  • [ Bravado (-2) ] - You are rash in combat, refusing to show weakness by falling back from your enemies' blows. You either face it and stop it, or get hit in the progress. In addition, you cannot fight defensively.
Explanation: You can't create any defensive spells. Offensive spells are made to inflict damage while defensive spells do not inflict any damage at all and are made to prevent damage.
  • [ Arrogant (-1) ] You firmly believe that you are better than anyone else is. Your ideas are the best, your clothes are the most stylish, and you have to let everyone else know how much better you are. Once in a while you openly show contempt or disdain for someone else.
Explanation: You must at least act arrogant one out of five posts.
  • [ Bad Reputation (-1) ] You have a reputation that angers or frightens people. Examples include being unlucky, petty, or cruel. The rep may or may not be accurate, but in either case, word travels faster than you do.
Explanation: You can't communicate easily with non player characters. Somehow they've heard of you and the things they've heard weren't too good.
  • [ Curiosity (-1) ] - You're a naturally curious person and you find mysteries of any sort irresistible. In most circumstances, alas, your curiosity overrides your common sense. This forces you to investigate something unusual, even if it looks like it might be dangerous.
Explanation: You will walk deeper into the forest you have never been before. You won't turn around from the castle that you have never seen. This can result into getting you into very dangerous situations.

Magic: Blood Arts
Type: Caster
Classes: Offensive, Buff, Healing
Element: -
Description: The "Blood Arts" is a set of several spells belonging to the more widely-known Blood Magic which is a Caster Magic that enables the user to create and manipulate blood. It is the only magic to be considered a Forbidden Magic simply because of the sinister connotations of blood. Unlike Blood Magic, the Blood Arts focus on pure offensive, lacking any defense.

Short Lore: The name of "Blood Arts" has been kept through the generations in order to symbolise its ties with the Church of the War God inside the Country of Bellum. The name of the God itself is unknown, but the legends say that as soon as the respective started bleeding, any war was won.
Weaknesses: The well known weakness of blood magic is any higher ranked water-based attack. Due to its proprieties, blood may dilute in contact with water, thus leading to the strength of this magic being reduced a lot if not even fully.

History: Rainy days. Rainy days are said to bring death omens into this world and (un)fortunately enough, Adam was born during such a rainy day. It was that type of jazzy afternoon you would spend sitting in your sofa, doing pretty much nothing else aside from drinking hot chocolate.

Rainy days are pretty typical for the dominant climate in the Country of Bellum. Legends claim that the gods are crying each time a war happens in this country. As a matter of fact, that's where the name of "Bellum" comes from. It means "war" in a rather dead language no one studies anymore.

In a country where wars for supremacy knocked on reality's door every few weeks, most families worked hard to raise swordsmen, assassins, hunters and even mages. Not many families were known to practice magical rituals in order to boost the power of their men, but Vermillions were famous for giving birth to generations of wizards. Although they were following a rather lawful family code, their childen didn't get to learn about that set of rules before the age of 7. They had strange conceptions which resulted into considering that a child can't comprehend the world around until that specific age was passed. It was mostly like that because every 7 generations a "seventh son of a seventh son" was born to bring glory to their family and bath the Vermillion name in prestige and respect.

The day when Adam was born marked 7 years of anger, mysery and sorrow for the Vermillion family. He was born during a 7th generation while cold rain was pouring onto the inanimated body of his mother. For some reason it was a tradition for women of this family to be killed whenever they gave birth to a seventh son. Blood had an important meaning for the Vermillions, thus why a rose was drawn on the forehead of their children in order to symbolise sacrifice. Unlike others part of his lineage, Adam didn't seem to show much potential during his first years of life. Any attempt to teach him physical techniques or share with him ancient knowledge turned into a massive failure.

Days after days, weeks after weeks, the elders of his family tried to shape Adam into templates represented by long-gone warriors. With each failure, their hope was ceasing even more, but the desire for glory was increasing dramatically. Having a low esteem, yet enough confidence, Adam considered that the key to his success was learning the secrets hidden among the lines of the most valuable scroll of his family. At the age of 6, right before turning 7, Adam stole the scroll and studied it for one night.

Vermillion Family was divided into two branches around then. A main branch whose members were mostly family elders and a side branch filled with warriors of all types. While the most valuable scroll was in the posession of the main branch, the side one was tasked with its protection. The day when Adam stole the scroll was also the day when many of the side branch were murdered for betrayal. To be more specific, every relative of Adam was killed, but, due to their code not allowing the murder of childen, he was exiled. Thus he became an "omen of death", foretelling the death of his relatives since his birth.

All over Bellum, to be exiled from a family meant to be thrown of a cliff, pushed into a river, fed to the cruel beasts living in the forests or other challenging situations. In fact, that's what being exiled was all about: "being killed without being killed". It was a real challenge to survive as most outlaws or banished people lacked any magical abilities.

The day when Adam had to face his death represents a watershed in the history of the Vermillion Family. He was supposed to rise to the "challenge" prepared for him right on his birthday, but that didn't matter as much as the fact that the whole family gone extinct through the use of an ancient magic. As you know, any usage requires an user. In this case, Adam was the one who got consumed by wrath and gave birth to a strong magic inside him.

By the time he opened the scroll during the previous day, Adam learned about a God of War often described in ancient songs from Bellum as "the one whose blood purifies". Legends claimed that this specific God was once a human walking the Earthland, fighting in various wars and winning them by simply bleeding. Inside the scroll there were also quotes from historians who thought that this wardog could control his own blood. As he kept reading through the lines written on the scroll, he found out about what seemed to be a theory on how to receive knowledge of something called "The Blood Arts". Whoever wrote the scroll insisted that in order to receive this ancient set of spells, one must be a sinner.

That's how he received this magic. The wrath he felt was his last sin, right on his 7th birthday. Before he could have even realised, the whole Vermillion family was dead - except him.

Adam spent the following 18 years of his life traveling around Bellum, studying about this God of War, dealing with the demons that reigned over its Churches and developing a morality rather different than the Vermillion teachings.

Today, following his own code of morals, Adam decided to start a new life in a new country, leaving all of his past behind. This is how his journey to Fiore starts.

Adam Vermillion

Bumpity Bump.

I apologise for the long history of my character which tends to be rather vague towards the end. I wanted to make a complex character, but apparently I couldn't write a perfect background for Adam, haha.
