Ace Brookes

“What's the fun in doing what you're told.”

Name(s): Ace Brookes
Nickname(s): The Green Devil
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Birthday: April 19th
Sexuality: Straight
Rank: D
Guild: Guildless
Tattoo: Front side of the left ear lobe
Face Claim: Green from Pokemon (That is the character’s full name)

Height: 1.87 meters / 187 cm
Weight: 78 Kg
Hair: Brown
Eyes: Green
Description: Ace has a slender semi toned build and is of average height and weight. His noticeable big green eyes are probably the first thing to draw a stranger's attention when they first lay eyes on him. Ace claims that he doesn't style his hair, but the natural messy look is what he actually aims for. There isn't much that stands out about his appearance other than his thin soft "girly" hands. At least that's what he's been told. His body is toned as stated before and his trained arms can be seen when he takes off his jacket.

He usually has a plane t-shirt on and faded blue slim fit jeans that hang a couple inches below his waist. Most of the time he has a jacket to go with his stylish look. Over the plane t-shirt hangs a necklace in which he's never seen without. It doesn’t seem like it’s made of any expensive material, however its sentimental value means a lot to Ace. His left ear has a piercing in which he usually wears a small black stud of diameter 2mm, unless the occasion was calling for something else. As for his shoes, he's not the type of person to go through a week without cleaning. He believes that you can judge a person the kind of shoes they wear.

The mage looks like an overall clean person with his clipped nails and blow dried hair. He stands with a bit of a slant to either side. Most of the time with a resting poker face as they say, he gives a radiant heart-warming smile back to those who smile at him, otherwise he prefers to intimidate those who don't with his stale gaze.

Personality: As for a first impression, he treats people the way they treat him. Whatever vibe you feed him, then he tries to give you back the same. Most of the time he's active and chatty, trying to initiate conversation and build relationships, however that does get him into trouble with people a lot. A risk taker since birth and doesn't really learn much from mistakes unless they smacked him right in the face.

Ace is humorous and loves cracking jokes with people. He might not always make them laugh but as long as he laughed at his own joke then he's alright. A bit arrogant and self-loving but once you truly get to know him then you've got his trust and care for life. A person who's deeply emotional and deeply cares for who he loves. What's ironic is that Ace gets quickly attached to those he likes and ends up fighting for those who might not do the same for him.

Like all people, he has his negative personality traits as well. Ace would be the moody type of person where his current mood will be the main basis of his judgement. It can really mess up his decision making and work against him in his finest of moments. Beware, as your first impression of him will depend on how you approach the mage.

Motivations: What motivates Ace to grow mentally and physically is gaining experience. He gets that euphoric vibe whenever he gets to feel the adrenaline pump through his body. It can basically be anything that stimulates him emotionally (positively) that gets him motivated. Also, as of part of his personality, Ace is self-loving, which makes him want to see himself succeed except when it's at the cost of hurting his loved ones. Even if he cares for someone, he would still believe he’s the reason they are doing fine, which leads to his arrogance.

Meeting new people, learning more magic, seeing new places are all motivators. However a huge motivator for this guy are relationships. Friendships and family is what he fights for. He will try to protect what's his no matter what the case. It brings out the greatest of will power left inside of him even when he's on his last bit of strength remaining. What this emotional cluster of a human wants is the safety and wellbeing of his people.

His one main target of becoming a mage is to not lose what he has left of friends and family and give them the easy going life they truly deserve. While he's at it he'll try to make that name for himself and become famous and powerful. After all, who doesn't want to get that little bit of fame and glory he believes.

Fears: Ace fears regret. The mage is a risk taker by default, but if you do get in his head and manage to make him think twice then there he goes, analyzing his options over and over again. Wasting time to see if it's worth it like the one guy said. If he eventually misses his shot, the regret will eat through his conscious mind.

Another little thing Ace fears the loss of friends and family. He gets emotionally attached pretty quickly, so letting go will be quite a hard stage in his life. It just distracts him from his true goals and leads to other fears in his mind.

A phobia and mystery for this guy would be his fear of extremely loud noises. This doesn't mean noisy bars or restaurants. It simply means extremely loud unnatural noises, such as screeching, roaring and all that. He never knew where it all started but it will be his little twisted hidden mystery. (His Phobia from the Negative Characteristics)

-Ace likes training. He has a passion for his magic.
-He likes forming relationships.
-Likes trying new experiences.
-Likes a good sense of fashion.
-A big fan of seafood
-His random short naps are a key to his happiness.

-Being ignored
-Dislikes losing. He’s a sore loser.
-Irrational dislike of gay behaviors or people (Makes Ace extremely disgusted from Intolerance negative characteristic).
-Really cold weather.
-Greatly dislikes people who put in a lack of effort in what they do.

Positive Characteristics:

  • Agile (+3): You are particularly flexible and poised.
Explanation: You can dodge an attack up to B Rank, so long as it is feasible for you do to so (AoE excluded). Usable once per thread.

  • Diligent (+2): Your meticulousness allows you to analyze minute details that others miss.
Explanation: Reduces training cost of spells by 10% in word cost.

  • Diehard (+2): You can remain conscious after attacks that would fell others.
Explanation: Allows for 1 A-Rank spell to be shrugged off. Damage is still applied, but no pain is shown. Limit of once per battle.

  • Regeneration (+4): You heal very fast inside and outside of combat. Small cuts that go up to one inch deep are healed in the next post.
Explanation: C-rank damage healed every post.

Negative Characteristics:

  • Arrogant (-1): You firmly believe that you are better than anyone else is. Your ideas are the best, your clothes are the most stylish, and you have to let everyone else know how much better you are. Once in a while you openly show contempt or disdain for someone else.
Explanation: You must at least act arrogant one out of five posts.

  • Derangement/Insanity (-3): Due to circumstances beyond your control, you are permanently insane. You may have a congenital brain disorder, or perhaps you saw something mortals were never intended to lay eyes upon, and it drove you mad. Choose a Derangement/Insanity for your character from the lists below. Though the list is by no means exhaustive, the following options are ones that have been presented in game terms and that have definable--and most times numerical--penalties.
Phobia: A character afflicted by a phobia persistently fears a particular object or situation. She realizes that the fear is excessive and irrational, but the fear is disturbing enough that she avoids the stimulus.
Explanation: Character is unable to face anything that has it's fear. If you're afraid of spiders and someone uses spider magic, you flee.

  • Greedy (-1): Money makes your eyes light up with joy. The more, the merrier, as long as it spends. Once in a while, whenever you're divvying up shares of the loot, being offered a hefty bribe, or catching wind of some fabulous treasure, the flaw can to convince you to grab for as much money as possible.
Explanation: You may act differently when money comes into play.

  • Intolerance (-1): You have an irrational dislike of a certain thing. It may be an animal, a class of person, a situation, or just about anything at all. Note that some dislikes may be too trivial or ridiculous to count--a dislike of Bavarian-crème-filled donuts or mechanical pencils, for example, has no real dramatic value and will not be allowed.
Explanation: You must act very disgusted and displeased when your dislike comes into play.

  • Dependent (-3): You have a ward or charge that depends on you, usually a young child or elderly relative that needs you to provide for them and devote at least part of your time to them. In money terms, this will cost you five percent of your jewels a month. You may also be required to stay near home often in case you are needed.
Explanation: You will be placed on a list and at the end of the moment five percent of your jewels will be deducted.

  • Proud (-1): You don't like accepting help from others. If a gift or offer of aid smacks of charity or pity even the slightest bit, you grow indignant and refuse it.
Explanation: You win 10% less jewels from wheel spins.

  • Judgmental (-1): You form opinions quickly and change them very slowly. You also have a tendency to judge people on their appearance. A man dressed as a pirate, no matter how gentlemanly, is a scoundrel and a dog as far as you is concerned. A man covered in mud is a peasant, and a woman wearing revealing clothing is a prostitute.
Explanation: You must act very disgusted and displeased when your dislike comes into play.

Magic: Gas Magic
Type: Caster
Classes: Offensive, Defensive, Supplementary.
Element: Gases
Description: Gas Magic grants the caster the ability to manipulate different gases for offensive, defensive and supplementary purposes. For example, the caster creates a dense layer of Chlorine gas and slashes diagonally which would send the layer at the designated speed towards the target. All gases manipulated by this magic are green and cannot be colorless or clear. The caster cannot control all the air surrounding the area and thus is limited to a negligible amount which won't affect other characters breathing.
Weaknesses: Gases are light and are not very effective when matched against wind based magics. The weaker ranks of spells might also be blocked by thicker steel armors. The gas used might be Oxygen but it would also turn green and all other colorless gases would be visible when manipulated by the magic.

The young Ace Brookes knew no one but his grandfather while growing up. He took care of his education, physical training and all other matters as if Ace was his son. His grandfather, Leo, was from Ace’s father’s side. He had no problem raising Ace again due to how close of a family they were. They all worked side by side along with other villagers and kept the steady income to raise their little ones.

When Ace was still a clueless boy of age four years old, his small village was attacked by a group of warriors aiming to raid the place for its strategic war position. The village was located on a hilly mountainous area at a higher altitude which required travelers to take main routes to access the village. So most of the villagers were all greatly into harvesting tea and that was the main source of income for them. They were well known for selling their products to merchants that passed by once every month and left the villagers with enough money to live off exchanging goods with other passing merchants.

The innocent villagers were attacked out of nowhere and were forced to fight. Most of them knew little to nothing about self-defense and simply lost their lives in the war, while others died trying to protect their loved ones. It was a dark day in the history of the village, as little to nothing remained of the place. Ace’s parents passed away along with his grandmother and childhood friends who he barely remembers playing down the village with. Few were left to rebuild what was once known as the tea valley. The young boy grew up helping his grandfather and the rest rebuild the place. It took the village a long enough time to get restored. As time went by, Ace’s grandfather trained him to become strong enough at protecting himself and vowed to teach him a secret art of magic to enhance his fighting skills.

That was mostly the reason Ace learned to value relationships the most. He strived to make his grandfather proud of him and with time mastered Gas Magic. He hopes to be able to repay his grandfather someday for the light he brought into his life. He tries to send out a certain amount of his jewels to his grandfather Leo every month no matter where he was, and that way they can stay in touch always and have letters going back and forth to make sure he’s okay.

In the present time, Ace’s grandfather grew older in age and finds it hard to move like he once did. He mainly relies on teaching the newer generation of villagers about the old tradition in harvesting. Leo is one of the greatly respected elders in the village.
